Principal Research Engineer
Nicolas is a Principle Research Engineer at NEC Laboratories Europe in Heidelberg. He is the lead developer of NEC Laboratories Europe's SOL compiler and maintainer of several open-source projects (e.g., VEDA, Keras Merge, Illyrian and Tungl). His work focuses on optimizing computational demanding applications (e.g., AI) running on general purpose hardware platforms (e.g., CPUs, GPUs and vector processors). Before joining NEC in 2017, he completed his PhD in GPU performance optimization from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, where he focused on automatic memory access pattern optimizations for CUDA-based computational science and computer graphics applications.
